August 2024 PRCA-MGM Monthly Meeting

Vince Hodges is the assistant news director at WSFA 12 News in Montgomery, AL. For the last 19 years, he has worked with an award-winning staff at the NBC affiliated newsroom. He is also part of the photojournalist staff at WSFA. Vince began his career at WSFA in 1992 after earning a degree in Broadcast Journalism at Troy State University. He was WSFA’s first full-time news editor when the station launched a 5 p.m. newscast.

Before returning to WSFA in 2004, he served in marketing and sales roles for a family-owned radio station in Dothan, AL and was the general manager at WRJM-TV in Montgomery, a UPN affiliated network. In the late 1990’s, Vince served as the production coordinator and adjunct professor at his alma mater. There he worked with the staff at the Hall School of Journalism’s TSU-TV and trained students.

Vince will bring us insight from the media world on occasions where we, as PR professionals, might be missing the mark when connecting with our media counterparts as well as what news directors wish we knew!
