About The Event
Drew Glover is 35 years old and is the Principal Coordinator in charge of the 56th Anniversary Selma Bridge Crossing Jubilee in Selma, AL, the epicenter of the voting rights movement. Emerging as a bold millennial voice in the fight for equity and justice, Drew brings 10 years of experience in organizing local and national movements. Overseeing the Jubilee, the largest annual civil rights event in the nation, Drew is leading the revolutionary charge to make this year’s event both virtual and global for the first time ever, while simultaneously carrying the weight of its historical significance -- bridging the gap between the accomplishments of the past and the paradigm and technological shifts needed to ensure the Jubilee's place in society’s collective consciousness for years to come. It is not a mantle he takes lightly -- especially knowing that this will be the first Jubilee since four prominent civil rights generals transitioned: Joseph Lowrey, C.T. Vivian, Bruce Boynton, and the legendary Congressman John Lewis, who famously led the original “Bloody Sunday” march with fellow activist Hosea Williams.
